Shannon Jonasson

Shannon is 33 years old, married (6years), has two dogs and four cats and currently lives with her husband in Quesnel, BC.  For the past 9 years she has worked as a forestry technician for Central Interior Mapping, a forest consulting company in Quesnel. She supervises a 5-10 person silviculture crew.  She is currently working towards becoming a professional forester. 

Professional interests while visiting Thailand would be to see some of the different forestry / silviculture techniques used as well as Integrated Resource Management.  This would include the Mahout elephant-training center, seeing some forest plantations, and some shrimp farms. 

Her personal interests include kayaking, playing soccer, cross-country skiing and, hopefully, this fall will include downhill skiing.  She enjoys doing pottery even though her bowls can only be lifted if using both hands.  She is an amateur photographer who is just learning to keep her fingers out of the pictures.

This will be her first trip to Thailand, however she has had many friends and family members who have made the trip, which has whetted her appetite on what she will want to see and do while she is there.  Her husband is especially interested in any cooking tips that she could acquire while in Thailand.
