Phil Claxton

Phil, sponsored by his home Club, the Rotary Club of Powell River, is married with three wonderful adult daughters, and two grandsons. A Rotarian since 1991, Phil is a past Club President, Paul Harris Fellow, and Foundation Benefactor. He currently serves as Assistant District Governor to the Clubs of the Sunshine Coast.

Born in Ontario, Phil joined the Canadian Navy in Halifax, N.S. at 17 years of age, specializing in underwater weapons. In 1974, Phil and Marie married and moved to the Wet Coast to start a career and family.

Phil is employed in electrical construction, having worked in industrial project management, and construction management, in Canada and the United States. Phil is currently self employed, and owner of Powell River Electric.

An outdoorsman, Phil is an avid, if not often successful, hunter and fisherman, and enjoys boating on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, and points north.
