Neil McDonald

Team Leader  GSE 2004

Neil, who is sponsored by the North Vancouver Rotary Club, is married with two adult sons. A Rotarian since 1979, Neil is a past club President and past District Youth Exchange Chair. He is co-chair of the 2004 North American Rotary Youth Exchange conference and is interested in learning about this program in New Zealand. 

Originally from England, Neil immigrated to British Columbia in 1974. Since then, Neil has worked as a municipal engineering consultant, including several years pursuing international infrastructure assignments. In addition to project management and client liaison responsibilities, his primary technical focus is municipal water supply and waste water engineering. Neil would like to visit private and public sector organizations active in this sector and see their facilities. Specific interests include design and operational issues, regulatory constraints, public-private partnerships and the organization and management of consulting engineering companies.

Neil plays moderate tennis, bad golf and enjoys any form of boating, particularly sailing and ocean kayaking. He enjoys most forms of spectator sports, particularly motor sport, and is currently rebuilding an old English sports car.
